Yup........its a must in every Punjabi household in winters!
Here is my recipe for all you foodies out there.......
Ingredients:
Grated red carrot - 1 kg
Milk - 750 ml
Sugar - 3/4 cup
Ghee - 1 tbsp
Chopepd nuts - Almonds, Cashwes, Raisins
Method:
Heat milk in a large container. Add the grated carrots. Mix thoroughly.
Simmer the gas and keep stirring the mixture as the milk begins to dry up.
Just before the milk completely dries up add sugar into it and mix well.
After some time, add chopped nuts. Now mix in the 'desi ghee'.
Remove from heat when halwa is completely dry.
Your yummy halwa is now ready to serve!!
P.S.: Gajar halwa can be served hot as well as cold. I personally like it hot!!
