Hi All. I made 6 exploding boxes this month. I will be sharing all of them one by one. You can view the first one here. This is the second one that I made on order. The client wanted a "Pink" themed box for a young girl. So this is what I came up with. It is a garden themed box with lots of pink and butteflies.
I have used off-white paper for the base. The lid is bright green and topped with PP and a pink butterfly. For the first time I have used designer sticky note strips in place of pattern papers, and I guess they look equally good. They are also super easy to work with. The colorful diamond patterned strip on the lid is a sticky note and so is the checkered pink around the box. I used two of them for the outer side to cover the empty space.
There are many firsts in this box. I made a spring out of the regular craft wire used to make stocking flowers, etc. I wound it on a round object to make the spring.
The box opens up like this...
I have pasted Perizaad's photos on 3 panels and written her name on the 4th one. The outer four panels are left for journalling.
These letter stickers are a local buy.
Here again, on the outer panels I have used circular designer sticky notes for writing personal messages.
Another circular designer sticky note.... These are repeated on 2 sides.
I loved the way the spring springs up! It wobbles with slightest of wind around.
The Just for you sentiment is stamped. I have used lots of punched daisy flowers on the spring. The green PP at the base gives a nice garden look.
A close-up shows plastic butterflies stuck onto the wire from below. To hide the wire, I stuck silver glitter balls on to it. There are more glitter balls on the base PP and some silver butterflies from Pie Lane too.
Hope you like my creation as much as I enjoyed making it.
