Sending you some sunshine

Hi friends. I am sharing the cards that I made as a Guest designer for Mudra Craft Stamps in September this year. These two cards have been made using the Gerbera Blooms stamp set.

The cards are similar but for some change in elements and design here and there.

Here's a detailed step-by-step process of how I made these cards:
1. I took two 5.5 by 5.5 inches top folding pastel card stocks in pink and green for the card base.

2. Then I stamped the sentiment from Gerbera Blooms Stamp set on a 5 by 5 inch white card stock.

3. Thereafter, I stamped the design around the sentiment with inks matching the respective card bases. I used Ranger Archival Viridian and Rose Madder inks here.

4. For the pink card I stamped the leaf image while on the green one I stamped the outline flower image.

5. To make the 3D flowers, I stamped two sets of flowers on pink and green card stock with Rose Madder and Viridian inks respectively. I used the same ink to stamp the outline and the detailed image of the flower.

6. To make the 3D flower embellishment, I adhered the two stamped flowers on top of one another.

7. I cut off a few petals from the top stamped image and embossed it with an embossing tool. Then I popped it up with foam dots.

8. Finished off the cards by adding few sequins.

Heartfelt Thanks - Waffle Flower Lotus Stamp Set

Hi all... here's a card made using Waffle Flower Lotus Stamp Set. I did a lot of masking and stamping on this card.

Masking is so much fun and it's a joy to see the final image underneath. I used my stamping tool Stampoholic to do all the stamping and masking. I started by stamping on white card stock but I wanted to color the background black.

In all the excitement I forgot to use watercolor card stock, so the blending is not great because I used Zig Clean Color Real Brush Pens.

Nevertheless, I went ahead with the card. I outlined the entire image with yellow Zig pen and then colored the full background with black Zig pen.  I did not cover it completely in black so that it gives a chalkboard like look. Note how the image pops up with yellow outline.

The sentiment is also from the same stamp set. I stamped it with VersaFine Onyx Black ink and adhered it onto the card with foam tape.

This card was quite an experiment for me... hope you like it! Thanks for dropping by...

Repeated Stamping Lawn Fawn Flutter By Stamp

Hi there! Today I have a card that is created using just two stamps from the Lawn Fawn Flutter By stamp set.

I did a lot of masking and stamped the two floral stamps repeatedly to create this pattern. After stamping the three rows, I used the smaller flora stamp to fill in the gaps.

Here is how it looked after all the stamping and masking.

Finally, colored the panel using Zig Clean Color Real Brush pens.

Just for You Card - Lawn Fawn Flutter By

Hey friends!! Today I have a very sweet card made using this lovely stamp set from Lawn Fawn. I heat embossed the flowers and leaves and fussy cut them. Since the flowers were really very light in color, I added a bright peach matting on the card base and then started adding other elements on to it. First I glued the die cut window flat on the card and then arranged the flowers, leaves and another die cut leaf branch onto it. Then I heat embossed the sentiment from TPC stamp set on vellum, with gold embossing powder. Fussy cut it and added it in the center of the card. Finished off the card by adding few sequins randomly.

Thank you for stopping by my blog!

Mudra Stamps - Lotus Blooms

Hello friends! Today I am sharing a card that I made using the beautiful Lotus Blooms stamp set from Mudra stamps. I am so proud of the fact that these pretty stamps are manufactured in India and they are superb quality.

I was wondering how I would color these outline stamps, but my Zig pens made it quite easy and fun. I can say that I am getting hooked to coloring now :)

For the card, I took a white panel and distressed it using various distress inks till I was happy with the way the background looked. Then I dropped some water droplets on the panel to pick up some color from the distressed background.

I adhered few flowers and leaves flat on the panel with white glue and popped up few of them with foam tape.  The sentiment is from PABD Peonies Love stamp set.

Here's a peek into the coloring that I did. It doesn't look that good here, but looks quite decent on the card :)

PABD Stamp Set Peonies Love

Hi everyone!! It feels so strange to blog after a really long time! This has been my longest break from my blog. A lot of things kept me away from crafting. I moved to Manila, Philippines and was busy settling down here. Now that things are settling, and I have my new craft space set up, I am getting back into the groove :)

I may not be crafting, but I hoarded a lot of craft supplies before moving to Manila. And now its time to get them out and put them to use. So, I tried out my new stamp set from PABD called Peonies Love. And what a gorgeous stamp this is... amazing crisp stamping. I happened to attend a watercoloring class recently and practised my watercoloring to color these stamps.

Here is one of the cards I made....

I did some watercoloring on a white panel and used it for matting. Then I stuck a tag die cut on top of that panel and stamped my sentiment on it. Once that was done, I popped up the fussy cut flowers with foam tape and arranged them on the card. Added few punched out gold leaves and few sequins here and there. To finish up the card, I splattered some pink and blue ink on the card.

Hope you liked my card. Thanks so much from dropping by!!

Embossed Birthday Card

Hi everyone!! Today I am sharing an embossed card made using Penny Black Blissful Cling Stamp. I had so much fun creating this card. It is such a joy seeing that embossed piece come to life when you heat it. I took a watercolor paper and stamped the design using Versamark embossing ink. Then I embossed it with Ranger Gold embossing powder.

I colored the card using distress inks - Milled Lavendar, Dusty Concord, Shabby Shutters & Forest Moss. The sentiment was embossed on green vellum and adhered to the card front. For the final touch, I added a few sequins and purple rhinestones.

Ikebana Inspired Card

Hello everyone!! This card is made using WPlus9 Fresh Cut Florals stamp set. The sentiment is from WRMK stamp set and the flower pot is from a Micia stamp set.

I have arranged the flowers in an Ikebana style floral arrangement. First I gold embossed the background with a WRMK bee hive stamp set and lightly watercolored it with Broken China and Shabby Shutters distress inks. Then I stamped and fussy cut all the pretty flowers and leaves and arranged them at two points on the card creating a link between them.

One Stamp Three Cards

Hello there! Today I am sharing not one but three cards made using the Hero Arts Cling Stamp - Large Flower Background. This is one of those stamps, with which you fall in love instantly and you just want to own and play with it. I saw a few cards made using this stamp while browsing the net one day, and ordered this stamp right away. It's been lying with me for a while, and finally I got a chance to play with it.

I am a very amateur stamper, but I had lot of fun making these cards. While I was embossing the first card, I thought why not emboss more pieces at once. I find this an easy way to make card sets or a batch of cards in one go.

I embossed two cards with Ranger super fine white embossing powder and the third one with Ranger Gold embossing powder. Then I colored them with distress inks. The birthday sentiments are from a stamp company called Flonz Craft. The Just for you sentiment is from TPC - Whimsy Greetings.

So Happy For You

Hello everyone!! Today I have another floral card to share.  I was envisioning this kind of gradient background since quite some time. Finally I got the look that I had in mind. The stencil used here is from Craftslane. I used black soot and weathered wood distress inks to get this background.
The sentiment is heat embossed using ranger black embossing powder. The stamp set used is Penny Black.

The floral cluster was stamped on glossy paper and then fussy cut. The stamp set used is Avery Elle Petals & Stems. (I love this one!!) The watering can is a digi from the net which I printed n cut out and again used same distress inks to color it.

That's all for today. Have a great day!!

Altenew Vintage Roses stamp

Hello everyone!! Today I am posting after a long time. I hardly find time any for crafting with my little one around. But trust me, its a lovely feeling and I am loving being a full time mommy.

Inspite of such busy schedules I managed to lay my hands on some of the new stamps and was very eager to try them out. One such stamp set is the Altenew Vintage Roses stamp which is very sought after by stampers nowadays. It was a tough task to play with this stamp set as it is a bit tricky and requires a lot of practice. After some successful and not so successful trials I managed to get some pretty roses. I decided to fussy cut and use the good ones to make a card. At the same time I tried out another stamp set which is WPlus9 Pretty Little Peonies..... so my card has a mix of elements from both these pretty sets. The sentiment I heat embossed using Ranger Gold embossing powder. I have also use a golden paper for matting to give a golden outline to the main card piece.

Below is a snapshot of the trials I did. I used watercolor paper, glossy paper and normal paper. And the inks I tried were Archival inks and Memento inks. In case you have any queries, I would be happy to help you out.
One of my crafter friends Neha Bhatt has also done her review on this stamp set. If you like to read her post, please visit her blog here.

Thanks for dropping by. Do let me know your views on the card.

Handmade Christmas Card 2014 - Design 7

Hello and welcome to my series of Christmas cards for the year 2014. This is my sixth card. You may like to view all my Christmas cards here.

The technique used to stamp the Xmas tree is similar to the one I shared here. Only difference is, instead of mounting only two stamps, and repeating the same pattern, I mounted a variety of stamps on the acrylic block, around the central sentiment. The outlining was done separately using a border stamp. To give a twist to the normal stem, I stamped three words in order of their size, to build the stem.

For added interest, I made the hill with distress inks, and tried out bokeh stamping with my pencil eraser using distress inks. And Oh I love this bokeh look!! I am going to try it out more....

TCM Fancy Flourishes - Card 1

Hi Everyone! This is my third card using the TCM Fancy Flourishes stamp. I totally loved playing with it. I used it to make a bacnground and pop those three flowers on top. The flower stamp is a foam stamp from Hobby Ideas. I had initially stamped it on the base layer, but I thought it needed an extra pop. So, I stamped and fussy cut it again and adhered it with foam squares.

The black and white strip on sides is a washi tape. I put some glitter on the flowers..

Thanks for visitng.

TCM Fancy Flourishes - Card 3

Hello All. Here is another card that I made using TCM Fancy Flourishes stamp. I have used this stamp on the background and I stamped it twice using Memento New Sprout and Pistachio dew drop inks. The second time I stamped a bit away from the first image to give it a shadow look. The base paper is pre-embossed one. I used a paper matching with the quilled flower for the matting.

An interesting part of the card is that I have used lots of scraps that are left behind while punching. I added them to give detailing to the leaves and also as an added element on top right. The border at the top and bottom is also a piece of scrap from scallop punch.

In case you are wondering which punch scraps these are.... here is the punch I used - MS Diamond Fence.
