Apron Shaped Card

Hi everyone!! I am back to my blog after a lonnnnnnnnnnnng break. First I went to Pune to meet my parents and then to Dubai for a much deserved annual vacation. Also work has been keeping me busy so I have not been able to craft regularly. I have been seeing lovely posts from my fellow crafters and admiring them. Hopefully I get on track soon :)

Here is a card that I made for my mom's birthday. I thought of making something simple yet meaningful. Since she is the best cook I know, I thought of making an apron shaped card for her.

This is my first try at an apron shaped card. I did have to experiment a bit :)
The card base is kraft colored card stock. I used the little border stamp from MME's 'Follow Your Heart Be Amazing Clear Acrylic Stamp' which I had pruchased from Crafters Corner, to outline the apron. The buttons were white in color and I did not have matching red buttons, so I colored them using my nail polish.

For the inside of the card, I printed this doll from the internet and colored it using distress inks.

A close-up of the coloring that I attempted :)

Thanks for stopping by. Wishing you all a Happy New Year. I know I am late, but nevertheless!

Monochromatic Easel Card

Hi All. Today I am sharing an easel card that I made on order. My client wanted an easel card to accomodate a picture of her mom-in-law along with some sweet wordings that she had sent. At the bottom, she wanted to put up a picture of herself and her husband along with some more personalised messages.

She also wanted lots of quilling on the card. So this is what I came up with. Monocrhomatic theme is just a co-incidence. I have mainly used green and yellow..

Best Mom

You must have seen the sneak peek of my card that I made for Lulupu today. So here's the full story behind the Mother's Day Card that I made for this month's challenge at Lulupu #11 - My Mum, My World.

I had so much fun using these pretty pattern papers and layering them. I felt I could just go on and on with the layering. After a long time I used so many supplies in one card.

To start with, I chose a  flower shaped card base in yellow. To cover the base I have used this pretty paper from Zephyr A4 paper pad. Then I used a circular card board that comes inside a Muesli bottle lid, to give some height to the center part. I covered it with pattern paper from My Minds Eye - Blink of an eye collection. I topped this with the gorgeous die cut from Bo Bunny. The die cut is secured using pink colored Doodlebug brads crushed velvet. I created the MOM tags by hand cutting left over papers from My Minds Eye paper pack. I have used stickers from my stash for the letters. The yellow flower is made using daisy punch. I have also used the gorgeous cream fabric tape and decorated it with pearls.

Shaped Shabby Chic Card

Hi. This is the card for which I had shared a preview yesterday. I made this card for inspiration as Guest DT for Lulupu Challenge Blog. I was asked to make a Shaped Shabby Chic Card.
I have tried a jar shaped card for the first time!

I made this card for my mom’s birthday and so I designed it keeping her in mind. I wanted to make it fun and bright and chose bright red color for the card base and for the roses too.
I wanted the red roses to be the center point of the card. The butterfly and flower lace die cuts are a RAK from Juhi and they were perfect for this card.
The twine used on the card is from an old price tag. I added small cherries at two places: one on the twine and other is a 3D sticker just next to the butterfly. The 'MOM' letters are self-sticking plastic stickers.

Mother's Day Card

Hi All, sharing another Mother's Day card that I made yesterday. It is a really simple one. I wanted to weave the ribbons by punching holes in the card and use it on my card. So here is what I came up with. The sentiment is a digi. The PPs are from Mallika, which she had sent for a pattern papers swap. The ribbon is a local buy. I punched flowers in assorted colors to match the PP. Hope you like it :)

Card for Mom

Hey all! How are you doing? I had a rather dull weekend as I was quite unwell. So what better spending it making a card for the most special person in your life! Mother's day is around the corner. In India it falls on the second Sunday of May.
No prizes for guessing who the inspiration for this quilled lettering is!!! Yes, Dr. Pritesh!!! I am in awe of her work and more so when I met her in person last week in Pune. She is an amazing person: juggles so many things together at a time!! Thanks for sharing your wonderful work with us!! Do visit Pritesh's blog for a tute on quilled lettering.

Top 3 and DT at Crafty JC

Hey folks!! I am delighted to be chosen among the Top 3 at Crafty JC's Recycling Challenge for my recycled tin can project.
This also means that I get to be the DT for their next challenge. This time we have a color palette to choose from, and my card is based on palette #2.
I made this card for my mom's birthday. The layout is based on card patterns sketch 138.
The card stock, glitter balls and silver butterfly stickers are from Pie Lane. The ribbon is from Archies. I had found this colored digi from internet and it was lying with me since a long time. The purple and green paper and the star were part of a scrapbooking kit I purchased from Hobby Ideas. 'You are a star' sticker is from Ms Elizabeth, again bought from Hobby Ideas.
