The BIG Bow Card

Ok so I made this card keeping in mind 2 challenges: For the love of Crafting - BINGO Color Challenge and Itsy Bitsy's Big B challenge.
Hope I did justice to both the challenges. This card is sort of inspired from the cards I posted day before yesterday. I have used MS deep edge arches punch. I punched a 2 1/2 inch wide strip from both sides. Then I tied the bow on the punched strip and then adhered it to the base.
 Front view of the card...
These flowers are handmade. I made them in many colors. They are pretty easy to make with a 5 petal punch. I used the blue ones here too for baby rocker card.
And here is the pretty bow. Isn't the brad so cute! I love these brads so much that I hardly use them. Don't want them to get over. I made those small pins by weaving the beads in a wire.

It's freebie time today. To download the image, right click and Save As. Keep checking my Freebies/Templates section for more and let me know your feedback about this.
Please link back to my blog if you use this sentiment.

Sweet Peas with Heart Punch

Hi all. I had a super fun long weekend. I went berserk with my new craft tools from US. I got a MS Score Board, MS Punches and some stickers, doileys, etc. Will soon share what all I made using them :)
Today I want to a share a sweet card having one of my fav flowers 'Sweet Peas'. I am not sure how many of you have seen these flowers in real. I have been lucky to be brought up in army cantts and we had huge lawns in our flats. My dad is very fond of gardening and I have seen a variety of flowers blossom in my garden from Sweet Peas to Dahlias to Zinias and what not!
Sweet Peas are really delicate and need support to grow as they are mainly creepers. They also smell very good. I had seen a video tute on You Tube for making them but the lady had used a particular butterfly punch. I couldn't make it then as I didnt have that punch. But suddenly it struck me to use a heart punch for making sweet peas.
I'll share the link of the video on You Tube soon. Don't have it here with me right now.

Here is my card....
I have tried a center step card for the first time. Used my new MS Score Board to emboss the white bg for the flowers to give a lattice effect.
 Side view...
A closer look at the flowers
I have made an elaborate tute on how to use a heart punch to make Sweet Pea flowers.
Please click on the image below to enlarge.
My tute above is for the Sweet Pea buds. I have followed Judy's tute here for the bigger flowers. Only difference is that I used heart punch again and have done embossing instead of spritzing.

Also for those of you who would want to use the sentiment I have used in this card, here it is!!

Pastel Easel Card

Heyy all! I have been waiting to post this card since the day I made it. I don't plan my cards so I was really happy the way it came out. All the elements kind of gelled so well with each other.
The CS is from Pie Lane. The PP is from Paper Mania.  I have used a doily on the upper half and lined it with lace. The white flowers are also special as they are made from the same lace. The blue mulberry flowers are from Ujjwal's store. The peach colored cherry blossoms were actually on a tag that came along with a candle. I have reused them here.  The sentiment and flower stickers next to it is from Itsy Bitsy.
Erum had illustrated how to make these flowers. You may like to have a look at her tutorial here...

Here's today's freebie for you. Do check out the rest in my Freebies/Templates section and link back to my blog in case you happen to use any of them.

Quilled Border Card 1

Hi All!! TGIF!! I just realised my previous post was the 250th post on my blog!! Wow! Celebrations are in order! I am planning a big one soon. So keep watching.....
I am here to post a card that (can you believe??) I started around this time of last year. Completed it in bits and pieces. Actually I struck upon this idea of making quilled borders on cards and started out with four cards together. Each has a slightly different border. Then the challenge was to embellish the center portion. So it kept lagging behind. So finally here I post the first of the series today.
The top paper is from a magazine. The "Friends" sentiment is a colored digi.
A closer look at the border.....
It's freebie time today. Since the card is about friends, I designed a sentiment on friendship. To download the image, right click and Save As. Keep checking my Freebies/Templates section for more and let me know your feedback about this.

Mother's Day Card

Hi All, sharing another Mother's Day card that I made yesterday. It is a really simple one. I wanted to weave the ribbons by punching holes in the card and use it on my card. So here is what I came up with. The sentiment is a digi. The PPs are from Mallika, which she had sent for a pattern papers swap. The ribbon is a local buy. I punched flowers in assorted colors to match the PP. Hope you like it :)

And the freebie for today is....

Card for Mom

Hey all! How are you doing? I had a rather dull weekend as I was quite unwell. So what better spending it making a card for the most special person in your life! Mother's day is around the corner. In India it falls on the second Sunday of May.
No prizes for guessing who the inspiration for this quilled lettering is!!! Yes, Dr. Pritesh!!! I am in awe of her work and more so when I met her in person last week in Pune. She is an amazing person: juggles so many things together at a time!! Thanks for sharing your wonderful work with us!! Do visit Pritesh's blog for a tute on quilled lettering.

Birthday Card

Hi people. What are your plans this long weekend? I am sure if not anything else you will have some crafting plans for sure. Today's card is pretty simple but I enjoyed making it. For this I used my sponge stamps from Hobby Ideas. I have used normal water colors for this.
After stamping, I fussy cut (learned this word from my blogger pal Hussena) the flowers and leaves.
This is something I tried for the first time. I used black and green hole guards to make the border for the PP. This is how they looked before sticking the PP.
And after sticking the PP. It looks like a nice border. Isn't it?

Best Wishes

Hi All. Here is a simple card I made this week. The colors are very different from the ones I usually use, but somehow I liked the output. I have used the PPs from Paper Mania. The sentiment is from Itsy Bitsy. The image used is a digi. The ribbons, lace and pearls are from my stash.

Color blocking technique

Hi Friends!! I was too excited to post this card based on last week's Mojo Monday #236 until I found out that I missed the timeline. Ditto for the card I made for Card Patterns :(
Nevertheless, I am glad I could make 4 cards this weekend. And I loved both these sketches a lot and the cards I have made are very different from the usual stuff that I make.

The inspiration for the color combo for this card is the color blocking technique. I loved this new combo which I would have not tried otherwise. The pretty PP that you see here is a RAK from Mallika which came just in time to match this card I would say. The flower is made using a template I found from net. It can be easily made without the template as well. The template had 3 layers and I added a readymade flower in the center.
 Another view..
I am starting a new section in my blog and will be sharing Freebies and Templates with you all. So here goes the first template for this flower. Please note that not all the stuff shared in this section is made by me. I will also be sharing stuff that I find on the net with full credit to the source.
This pretty template is from Maria. She also has some interesting tutorials on her blog. Do check them out.

Have a nice day!!

Bottle shaped card

Hey there! Today I want to share a card that I made for my dad's ex-boss on his retirement.
My mom and dad wanted me to make a card in a different shape so I came up with a bottle shaped card.
Here it is...
As you can see I also made a matching envelope with the card.
My dad had sent me the wordings for the card, so I stuck the greetings on the right inner side and made a tag for the left side.
The tag can also be used as a bookmark later.
A close-up of the front side...If you see carefully, the flourishes are actually the negative part of the punched border used for the envelope, which we normally discard. Also the little stars added on the greeting inside is from the punched border.

Triple Easel Card

It is that time of the year when I make a special card for the most amazing couple in my life! Yes, it was my mom & dad's anniversary on 13th Oct. I sent the card to them and they absolutely loved it. They are the ones who have always appreciated my talent and given me the courage to tread my way.

Since the card had to be extra special, I wanted to try something different. So, here is my first try at the Triple Easel Card. I printed the wordings for 'Mom' & 'Dad' and hand-cut them. All the flowers are punched. The white pearls are from a local shop. The wordings on the lower panels are also printed on card paper. I added silver glitter balls (from Pie Lane) to decorate and emphasize 'Happy Anniversary'. The heart-shaped blue-colored stones act as stoppers.
