Mega Celebration Event no 4 - Things to do with a circle punch

Hi all! I am back with another fun post. I actually wanted to call it 7 things to do with the circle punch but I guess I will certainly discover more things in the time to come and keep adding to this post.
But for now I will stick to 7 simple things to do with the circle punch. I will try and illustrate with some of my stuff where I have used these. I will also pick-up stuff around the net and link to it wherever I find good use of the circle punch.

1. Bunting – Punch out assorted pattern papers or colored papers and cut them into half and use as bunting.
Used here in a mini book..
Used here in a mini album...
2. Borders Punch out colored / pattern papers and stick them to form a scalloped border. To add more fun to this design, you can also punch each of the pieces.
Used here as top border, overlapping...
Used here as side border, not overlapping......
All around border for circular easel card...

3. Flowers – There are many types of flowers that you can make using round punch.
Flower made using 7 circles.
1 punch manys ways :) [click to enlarge]
Step 1: Fold the paper and punch from the folded side.
Step 2: The petals should look like these.
Step 3: Combine 3 petals to form a tulip.
Step 4: Add 2 more petals on each side to form a lotus.
Step 5: Turn the lotus upside down and add another petal to form a 3D flower.

4. Background – Punch out assorted pattern or colored papers and randomly stick on the base to form a background. You can also punch out circles in different sizes.

5. Stamping – Use a small stamp to stamp a design on paper and punch it out with your circle punch. Or you can use a big stamp to stamp different parts of the design on 3-4 punched out circles to create a different look. Use these circles to decorate your card.
A small butterfly stamp...
A bigger stamp inked from different areas...

6. Frame corners – Cut the punched circle into four and stick on the corners of paper to create a frame type look.
Used here on 2 corners...

7. Tabs: You can either use the full circle for creating tabs or cut it into half. I have marked months on the tabs and attached on pages of the booklet.

Happy Father's Day

Hey guys! Again popping in to post a card that I made as GD for ICRC18 - Celebrations + Masculine Card. I made this card for my dad. He has been my greatest supporter in whatever I did. He appreciates my work a lot. Thank you Dad!
About the card: These PPs and the star charm were sent to me by Mallika as part of a swap. Thanks dear. I think they go really well for a masculine card. The sentiment is a digi. There are many recycled items used in this card. Like the wooden bead used to hang the charm is from an old bracelet. The ribbon is the extra piece that you get with readymade gents trousers in a small packet along with a button and patch of cloth.
The green button is from Pie Lane. The metal button on top right came along the price tag of men's jeans.
The star is made from a price tag. I scratched the edges with craft knife to get a rugged look.

Mega Celebration Event no 2 - Guest Challenge

Hi there! Hope you have registered for the 1st event in the mega celebrations on my blog, i.e. my blog candy. More and more yummy stuff is going to be added to the candy, so don't miss it.

And welcome to the 2nd event today. I have a Guest Challenge for you by none other than the very very talented crafter, who is loved by the whole blogger community, and whose designs are an envy for all - Priya Sondhi from Priya and Papers blog .
I have a long association with her as we studied in grad college together and needless to say, I am so so proud of her work.

Over to Priya.....

"Hi all! When my dear friend invited me to set a challege, I just couldn't say no in spite of my busy schedule.. So here is my challenge for you.. A color challenge... Make any project using 3 colors i.e. Pink, White and a splash of black.. and yes when I say color challenge it means these colors should be the dominant ones on your creation... You can make anything a card, box, photoframe, or just about anything.. Since its Indu's celebrations, you can do some recycling too to impress her ;)..
Thanks a lot Indu for inviting me.. :) May you have many more glorious years to celebrate your success in whatever you do... And I hope everyone will join in.. There are lot many goodies to be won! "
Here is the inspiration from Priya
Thanks so much Priya........ and the inspirational card is gorgeous!! So girls, get started with your projects!!

The challenge will close on 12th July midnight. The winner will be chosen by Priya.
The prize for this challenge is being sponsored by Pie Lane.
Here is what Sri and Ton from Pie Lane have to say: "Pie Lane was started in 2007 as an east meet west venture. We started off with embellishments purely for the European market. Luckily, it occurred to both of us to make hobby craft much more than an export venture and we have been focusing on the Indian market for the last two years. The journey is TOUGH. There is so much for us to learn, so much awareness we have to create and it never feels like we have been working on Pie Lane for over five years. Its seems like we just started and we are, but, novices in this field.
But, its a very rewarding journey as we make for real life clients. People we connect with, who give feedback and have integrated into the Pie Lane family :)"

And here is the yummy stuff from Pie Lane up for grabs!! I am a BIG fan of their products. You can see all my cards made using Pie Lane stuff here.
Rules to be followed:
  1. Please link directly to your post and not your blog
  2. You can link to any no. of challenges you like
  3. Do link back to this challenge in your post
