Exploding box - Pink and Garden theme

Hi All. I made 6 exploding boxes this month. I will be sharing all of them one by one. You can view the first one here. This is the second one that I made on order. The client wanted a "Pink" themed box for a young girl. So this is what I came up with. It is a garden themed box with lots of pink and butteflies.
I have used off-white paper for the base. The lid is bright green and topped  with PP and a pink butterfly. For the first time I have used designer sticky note strips in place of pattern papers, and I guess they look equally good. They are also super easy to work with. The colorful diamond patterned strip on the lid is a sticky note and so is the checkered pink around the box. I used two of them for the outer side to cover the empty space.
There are many firsts in this box. I made a spring out of the regular craft wire used to make stocking flowers, etc. I wound it on a round object to make the spring.
The box opens up like this...
I have pasted Perizaad's photos on 3 panels and written her name on the 4th one. The outer four panels are left for journalling.
These letter stickers are a local buy.
Here again, on the outer panels I have used circular designer sticky notes for writing personal messages.
Another circular designer sticky note.... These are repeated on 2 sides.
I loved the way the spring springs up! It wobbles with slightest of wind around.
The Just for you sentiment is stamped. I have used lots of punched daisy flowers on the spring. The green PP at the base gives a nice garden look.
A close-up shows plastic butterflies stuck onto the wire from below. To hide the wire, I stuck silver glitter balls on to it. There are more glitter balls on the base PP and some silver butterflies from Pie Lane too.
Hope you like my creation as much as I enjoyed making it.

CD Mini Album

Hey! Sharing my first CD mini album. I wouldn't have dared to make this, if not for the swap arranged by the 3 stooges - Khushboo, Tejal and Soumya. And I must say their inpirations and helpful guidance helped me to make one and participate in the swap. I had absolute fun making this and I am now glued to making mini albums :)

**Picture heavy post**
The cover: I've used mixed sets of papers from Paper Mania for the entire album. The flowers are made using big daisy punch. The center of it is actually metal. I have used hair clips that come in different colors. I detached the twirls and placed them behind the flowers. The alphabet stickers are from Itsy Bitsy. The 1" craft binders are from A1 craft supply.
Panel 1: I have used bunting here using circle punch. For some more ideas on using circle punch, refer my tute here.
The frame die cut and tag are from Itsy Bitsy. The green butterflies are from Pie Lane. I also stamped the butterflies to create an added effect.

Panel 2: I really love this one coz it has a moving element. The four tags are lined together and fastened using an eyelet which allows movement. So when closed they all get in one line. When opened, they look like the pic below.
Panel 3:  These butterflies are from Itsy Bitsy again. I wanted to glam them up so I used my 5 petal flower punches for this. I have used 2 sizes of flowers, punched them on white glitter paper, cut each petal and stuck on to the b'fly. The center is done using black rhinestones. The flowers on the left are the ones made using small flower punch.
Panel 4: Did you notice the bg here.... half moon shaped. Its a simple page to jot down Birthday memories. The cupcake and gift box embelishments are from Itsy Bitsy.
Panel 5: I loved this page too..... the way it turned out to be. The letter I and white panel are handcut. Ribbons are from my stash. The pink flowers are punched using large flower punch.
Panel 6: This is a simple one again. I added some flower shaped buttons. I cut a doily into half and used for bg on top of the PP.
Panel 7: I have made a small pocket here with a tag insert.
Panel 8: This is also an interesting page. I created some space for journalling. That cute li'l flag adds to the overall look of the page.
Some more photos...... I just couldn't stop clicking :) :)

Tip: In case you don't have a punch to drill holes into the CDs, you can heat an iron nail and use it to drill holes in to the CD. I have used this technique for the CD Mini album.

Mega Celebration Event 2 Guest Challenge - Winner

The only name that came to my mind while deciding for the Guest Challenge was Priya Sondhi! We all know her as the ICR Achiever for the year 2011. She is the Guest Deisgner for ICR and her creations have always wowed us. Priya has recently moved to US on work assignment. We wish her luck and hope to see her creations as soon as she is settled there.

Priya had suggested two options for the Guest Challenge and sent me the inspiration cards for both. I thought the Pink and White with a splash of Black was quite challenging to achieve. So we decided to go ahead with it.

The judgement for this event was totally left to Priya and in her own words.... "It was a tuff job! phewwwwww... I am still not able to decide."

I would like to mention here that all the 21 entries were awesome and we had fun looking at each one of them :) Thanks so much for playing along and showing so much enthusiasm!!

Here is Priya's final pick....

The winning entry for Priya's Guest Challenge on my blog is.......

Dr. Sonia

And the Top 3 in no order are.....

Hussena with her wonderful trio

Nupur with her awesome Magic Explosion Box

Congratulations to Dr. Sonia and Top 3.
