Christmas Card

Hi. Here is another CAS Christmas Card that I made. I punched out the snowflakes from a pattern paper set. Then layered them onto a scallop circle and pasted them on the card.

Art Exhibiton

Hey guys. Just wanted to share with you all that I had an Art Exhibition in my office last Friday, on 14th December 2012. I displayed my exclusively handmade paper crafts at the exhibition. On display were Greeting cards, Bookmarks, Gift boxes, Picture Frames, Mini Albums, Name plaques, Magic Explosion Boxes and Paper Jewelry.

Many other collegaues of mine also showcased their paintings, sketches, photography and short movies. My stall had maximum crowd and got many appreciation notes from visitors.

Magic Exploding Box - Christmas theme

Hi all. I have been really wanting to share so many projects that I created over last few weeks, but work is really keeping me busy. Also I recently had an Art Exhibiotn in office, where I showcased my stuff. So was partly busy with that as well.

I have missed many of your posts and challenges. Hopefully, will catch up soon.

Today I am sharing a magic explosion box and card made on Christmas theme.

Here is a look at the box first...
The inside of the box..... is has space to stick photographs and to write messages on small tags in pockets.

The center of the box has a glued gift box with some chipboard gift boxes and snowflakes around it. There is also a tiny Xmas tree that I picked up from the local market.
And here is the card..It is based on a sketch from Clean and Simple Stamping blog.
Hope you like my gift set.
P.S. I have added word verificatio for comments as lately I have been getting lot of spam messages on my blog. If there is any other way to stop that, please do suggest.

Groovy Chic Easel Card

Hi Friends!! I have been MIA for some time now from blogland..... and yeah I did miss it a lot. Dunno but I was just not feeling like blogging at all. So it was sort of a self-imposed break from blogging and crafting. I missed many of your posts too. But on and off I managed to see some of your wonderful stuff.... like Snehal's beautiful albums, Hussena and Priya's shabby chic cards.

I have not really crafted since more than a month now, so the card I am posting today is not recently made. I have used digis from digimyworld.com that I won for a craft challenge. I tried coloring the girl using Faber Castell Watercolor pencils.
 The opened up Easel card...
Have a great day!

Shaped Shabby Chic Card

Hi. This is the card for which I had shared a preview yesterday. I made this card for inspiration as Guest DT for Lulupu Challenge Blog. I was asked to make a Shaped Shabby Chic Card.
I have tried a jar shaped card for the first time!

I made this card for my mom’s birthday and so I designed it keeping her in mind. I wanted to make it fun and bright and chose bright red color for the card base and for the roses too.
I wanted the red roses to be the center point of the card. The butterfly and flower lace die cuts are a RAK from Juhi and they were perfect for this card.
The twine used on the card is from an old price tag. I added small cherries at two places: one on the twine and other is a 3D sticker just next to the butterfly. The 'MOM' letters are self-sticking plastic stickers.
A close-up of the handmade roses...

Guest Designing for Lulupu

Hi peeps! I am so excited to guest design for Lulupu this month. Their challenge is to make a shaped shabby chic card. Hop on to Lulupu blog now to view my card.
Here's a sneak peak into my card.

Handmade Diwali Cards Using Indian prints

Ok here is my 5th and last post for the day. To see my other Diwali cards posted today, click here. To see all my Diwali cards made till now, click here.

I came across some really cool designer paper having Indian prints on it. So I decided to make use of them to make some general cards. These can be used for any Indian festive occasions or otherwise too. I have just added various punched borders, but have kept the overall look very simple and sober.

Handmade Diwali Cards Using Stamps

Do check my other posts for today to see all the cards, or you can click the Diwali label to see all my Diwali cards.
For this card I have used wooden paisley and floral Mehendi (Henna) stamps that we get very commonly at the market. I colored them using sketch pens and added a hint of bronze paint. The golden stickers are from Hobby Ideas.
I have deliberately not added any sentiment here so that it can be used for other festivals as well.
This is one card I really wanted to try out: coloring the Diya. I traced the diya using this stencil from Itsy Bitsy and deocrated and colored it. The border stamp is again from Itsy Bitsy. I added colored rhinestones on it. The sentiment stamp is from Jovita's store.

Handmade Diwali Cards Using Ganesh Stencils

Do check my other posts for today to see all the cards, or you can click the Diwali label to see all my Diwali cards.
For these 2 cards I used Ganesh stencil from Itsy Bitsy.
For the first card, I have done coloring using normal sketch pens and outlined using 3D outliner. The stamp used for the border below is also from Itsy Bitsy.

For this card I colored the Ganesha using bronze paint and outlined using 3D outliner. The bronze stamp impressions on top and bottom is made using Hobby Ideas mini stamps.

Handmade Diwali Cards Using Punches

Do check my other posts for today to see all the cards, or you can click the Diwali label to see all my Diwali cards.

For this card, I made lanterns using left over paper scraps from punches and outlined it using a 3D outliner. The diyas and flames are made using circle punch. The border is made using MS diamond fence punch to create the effect of a fence.
For this card I made the flowers using tile punch. I cut-out the tile to create this look. The paisley paper used below is from an old wedding card.

Handmade Diwali Cards Using Stencils

Hi friends. As mentioned in my last post, I am back with my bunch of Diwali cards. Do check my other posts for today to see all the cards, or you can click the Diwali label to see all my Diwali cards.
For this card, I used the diya stencil from Itsy Bitsy. I sponged the diya design on the card....
For this card also I have used the same stencil but I traced the diya design and and outlined it using 3D outliner.
For this card, I use a stencil from Pie Lane.

DIY Festive Decor

Hi. I know everyone must be excited and really busy preparing for Diwali. I made a whopping 10 cards in a day for Diwali. Will try and share them here soon.
In the meanwhile, I wanted to share a quick DIY project for Diwali.
I had shared this project earlier too [prev link], and this is a variation of that. It's so easy to make and adds an instant festive look to your room.
You can make napkin rings with tissue roll for your home matching your crockery, décor and occasion.

I made two napkin rings: one on Diwali theme and other on Christmas theme. I have a Christmas themed napkin set, so I made the napkin ring to match it.

How-to make your own napkin rings in 3 steps:
1. Cut a tissue roll into 4 equal pieces using sharp knife/blade.
2. Cover the roll with designer/wrapping paper.
3. Decorate as desired with flowers, ribbon, laces, etc.

Best Wishes on your Wedding

Hi All. Hope you had a great time with family on Dushera. The festival season has started in India and I feel like going shopping, celebrating with family and taking a break from craft. Have not crafted since a long time now.
Just then my husband asked me to make a card for his colleague who recently got married.
This is what I came up with. It's an easel card. I wanted to have a lace and pearl effect in white as she is a Christian. I used my MS Lace punch for the upper part. The pretty pink matt textured paper is a RAK from Hussena.
The flower is handmade and is really very easy to make. I made it in 3 different colors. Might share a tute as soon as time permits. The sentiment is from Itsy Bitsy. The matching pink lace is from Pune. And the white satin ribbon and pearls are from my stash.
A closer look at the flower....

Kids Name Plate

Hi All.  Today I am sharing a project that mothers can make along with kids. It is ideal to hang on the child's room door. It can also be used to decorate kids room.

Below is a step by step tutorial on how I made this:
1. To start with, take a piece of card board. This needs to be covered with designer paper. You can take any light colored wrapping paper also. I have used the backing paper which comes with big stickers.
 2. Cut out alphabets of the kid's name in different colors of paper. You may either take pattern papers, plain paper in different colors or sticker alphabets.

 3. Ink the edges of the alphabets using colored ink pads or even a sketch pen would do. This makes the alphabets stand out a bit.
 4. Stick the alphabets on the paper and draw an outline with pencil. Cut along this outline to make the nameplate.
 5. Cut the paper and the card board along the outline and stick them together.
 6. Punch holes on the two top most points of the board and tie a ribbon or string to hang the name plate.
 7. This is how it looks after tying the ribbons.
 8. Decorate the board as desired using stickers, flowers, etc.

Happy Birthday Dad

Hi friends. Here is a card I made for my dad. His birthday was on 11th October. It's a sheer co-incidence that I used only green colors PP for the card. My dad has retired from Indian Army and their uniform color is also Green :) [Olive Green].
The embellishments are handmade and are a mashup of various things. I removed one layer form cardboard box and got this corrugated sheet. Then I cut it into heart and flower shapes. The center of the flower is a piece of metal from broken bracelet.
I layered the heart with tile punch cutout. Then I drilled 2 holes into it like a button and threaded the string.

Exploding Box - Birthday theme

Hi All. Here is another Exploding Box that I made on order for a lady doctor. She loved the gift a lot. This is my second one on Birthday theme. You may see my other exploding boxes here on various themes.
I made these blooms by layering big daisy flower punch.
A peek into the box as the lid opens...
 The cute and bright butterflies...
The full layout when the box is opened fully.
I decorated the cake with daisy flowers, doily punch lace and pearls.
Since the box was being gifted to her from her joint family, these tags were useful for everyone to write their personal messages for her.
 More tags...
 This is the 3rd panel
 This is the 4th panel
Side view of the cake. Used lot of pearls to decorate it.
Do let me know your view on this :)
