Handmade Christmas Card 2014 - Design 4

Hello. Here is my fourth Christmas Card for the year 2014. You can view my other Christmas cards here.

What's special about this CAS card is that I have used a totally unrelated stamp to make the Xmas tree.

 

I used two scroll stamps and mounted them side by side on the acrylic block.

 

 

 Then I cut out a tree shaped stencil and stamped over it.

 

Hope you like my simple experiment to use stamps in a more creartive way.

This card is based on a sketch which I have worked with previously too. I have used miscellaneous papers from various Paper Mania paper stacks. The holly leaves are punched out and I used golden beads for the berries from my stash.

Handmade Christmas Card 2014 - Design 2

Hello folks! Over the next few days, I will be sharing a Holiday Card each day. The layout used is similar to the one I had made previously [Link here].

I think this layout is really easy to work with and great for mass production too. I have used various embellishments here -  a chipboard poinsettia, handcut glitter foam holly leaf, few rhinestones and a sticker sentiment.

Revamped Blog and a Simple Card

Hello and welcome to my revamped, refurbished blog!! Thanks to Dr. Sonia for this inspiring post that gave me the push to update and declutter my blog. Not that I didn't like my earlier design, but since it was a custom template, I couldn't play around with it. Dr. Sonia, I have tried to incorporate many of your blogging tips here and would love to hear your feedback on the same.

I am also sharing a rather simple card in this post. I really didn't have to do much here.

 

The card base is bright yelloe Fabriano CS. I used MS Loop punch to make that frame for the card. The black floral design is a sticker that I found in a stationery store. I wanted it look like a leafy vine behind a frame.

Special Fold Card with Bookmark

Hello Everyone! Today I have a Special Fold Card with Bookmark to share with you. I had seen this kind of card on the internet but I am not able to locate the tutorial right now.

 

Actually speaking, it is a tri-fold card with the third panel being less than half the width of one of the panels. It folds inwards and has a pocket to hold a bookmark.

 

Sorry the pictures are not that good due to poor lighting.

Waterfall Card - Baby

Hello everyone! Today I am sharing a waterfall card made for a baby. The colors are generic so it can be used for baby boy/girl. The alphabets are from Itsy Bitsy and the paper pad used is from Paper Mania.

TCM Fancy Flourishes - Card 1

Hi Everyone! This is my third card using the TCM Fancy Flourishes stamp. I totally loved playing with it. I used it to make a bacnground and pop those three flowers on top. The flower stamp is a foam stamp from Hobby Ideas. I had initially stamped it on the base layer, but I thought it needed an extra pop. So, I stamped and fussy cut it again and adhered it with foam squares.

 

 The black and white strip on sides is a washi tape. I put some glitter on the flowers..

TCM Fancy Flourishes - Card 3

Hello All. Here is another card that I made using TCM Fancy Flourishes stamp. I have used this stamp on the background and I stamped it twice using Memento New Sprout and Pistachio dew drop inks. The second time I stamped a bit away from the first image to give it a shadow look. The base paper is pre-embossed one. I used a paper matching with the quilled flower for the matting.

An interesting part of the card is that I have used lots of scraps that are left behind while punching. I added them to give detailing to the leaves and also as an added element on top right. The border at the top and bottom is also a piece of scrap from scallop punch.

In case you are wondering which punch scraps these are.... here is the punch I used - MS Diamond Fence.

Hi everyone. Today I am sharing a simple card made using TCM Fancy Flourishes stamp set that I won at Lulupu. The flower is handmade using various punches. Sentiment is also from the same stamp set.

Floral Bloom in tea cup

Hi. In this card I have tried out a couple of new things like lace edge on card base, handmade flowers & leaves and glittery tea cup shaped vase.  I went so overboard with the flowers that I almost ended up hiding the cup and its handle. But I guess as long as it looks good I am okay with it :)
