Altenew Painted Roses Birthday Card

Hey there.... Sharing a quick card I made using the Painted Rose Stamp Set from Altenew. This was my first try with this stamp set.

To start with, I stamped the roses using Altenew Inks - Red Cosmos set and fussy cut them. I punched out a tile pattern repeatedly on a scrap piece of paper using a tile punch and stuck it on the card base. Then I heat embossed the sentiment from WPlus9- Whole Lotta Happy stamp set on green vellum and adhered it onto the punched piece. This way the tiled pattern did not overpower the design and at the same time gave a subtle look from behind the vellum piece.

Next I arranged the fussy cut roses around the sentiment and added some more punched tile and floral pieces next to them. Finished off the card using black rhinestones and a golden punched heart.

That's it for today. Do drop by again!!

DIY Lamp Shade Makeover

Hello! Today I am sharing how I upcycled this boring looking lampshade into an interesting one by just using pattern papers and tape.

Below is a step-by-step guide on to how make your own lamp shade sleeve. I am calling this a sleeve because I did not remove the old cover. I just covered it up with a new sleeve that can easily be slid on and off and I can change the look when desired.

Step 1: Select pattern papers of your choice. I have chosen a DCWV paper stack from Itsy Bitsy.

Step 2: We need 4 panels for the lamp shade. One panel measures around 8x11". Cut two panels of 8x11". For the other two panels, keep a 1" margin (length wise) on both sides so that we can overlap the paper while sticking.

Step 3: Apply strong adhesive or double sided tape on the panels that have the extra 1" margin.

Step 4: Stick the 4 pieces together. Do not adhere the 4th panel to the 1st one yet.

Step 5: You may decorate it by adding some lace or punch out designs using border punches. I have used MS border punches to punch out some designs in contrasting brown color and glued them to the top and bottom end of the panels.

Step 6: Wrap the panels around the old lamp shade base and stick the fourth panel over the first one.

Just for You Card - Lawn Fawn Flutter By

Hey friends!! Today I have a very sweet card made using this lovely stamp set from Lawn Fawn. I heat embossed the flowers and leaves and fussy cut them. Since the flowers were really very light in color, I added a bright peach matting on the card base and then started adding other elements on to it. First I glued the die cut window flat on the card and then arranged the flowers, leaves and another die cut leaf branch onto it. Then I heat embossed the sentiment from TPC stamp set on vellum, with gold embossing powder. Fussy cut it and added it in the center of the card. Finished off the card by adding few sequins randomly.

Altenew Persian Motifs Glitter Overload

Hi all. This card was made for Altenew's June challenge but I felt it wasn't good enough to enter the challenge, hence didn't post it then. If you overlook the design of the Altenew Persian Motifs stamp set, on its own the card looks fine. I put in a lot of hard work for this card but it didn't turn out as intended.

I started by heat embossing the design on watercolor paper and then stamped the sentiment above it. Thereafter, I filled in the pattern using very fine glitter from Pie Lane. I added glue into the tiny spaces in the design and that is where some of the details of the design got lost. But on the whole, if you see, the design looks fine.

Once the glitter part was over, I watercolored the background using my Zig Clean Color Real Brush pens. Then I felt the design got lost with watercoloring around it, so added yellow highlights in the spaces which was not filled with glitter.

Lastly, I finished off the card with some ink splatters and sequins.

Here's a glimpse of how I added the glitter on the pattern....

I would love to know your views about the card. Thanks a lot for stopping by.

Center Step Card - Mudra Lotus Blooms

Hi friends, today I have a very special card to share. It's special because after a long time I made a special fold card.  As I was looking at my old creations, I realised how many different types of folds we used to create as opposed to the simple top folding cards that we make nowadays. So I thought why not try something different with these beautiful watercolored Lotus Blooms.

To begin with, I watercolored and fussy cut my stamped images. Then I created a center step card base and distressed the front part with distress inks. I splattered some water droplets on it to give a nice look on the background. I adhered a couple die cut image on the first step fold and added the lotus bud and a leaf at the last fold of the center step card.

I arranged the floral images and leaves on the front portion of the card and embellished it with some mdf leaves and added a few sequins to complete the card.

Sending Hugs - PABD Humming Blossom

Hello everyone!! I am back with another card using PABD Humming Blossom Stamp Set. I ordered myself some of their newest releases and got my friend who visited India recently, to bring them for me here in Manila. I also wanted to try out their stencil so took out my Dreamweaver Stencils Metallic Gold embossing paste and created the layered background using it.

To start with, I took a big sheet of paper, almost 6x8", and embossed it all at once so that I can use it for various cards. Trimmed down a part of it for this card and adhered it to the card base using a strong double sided tape. Before that I also distressed the edges a bit to give a torn look.

I stamped the floral branches several times on watercolor paper using Versamark ink and embossed it with Ranger Gold Embossing Powder. Then I colored them all in different colors using Zig Clean Color Real Brush Pens.

I used a die cut to create a focal image for my card. Then I stuck the floral branch on the bottom right using foam squares. I trimmed a part of the branch to stick it towards the top left of the die cut. It made it look as if the bird was sitting on the branch.

To embellish my card further, I added lots of seed beads and few rhinestones here and there to add glitz to the card.

The sentiment is also from PABD - Lotus Delight Stamp Set. I embossed it in white and popped it with foam tape on the card.

The card actually has a royal look with all the gold in the background and gold embossing and golden beads. The pictures are not doing full justice to it :( But I hope you do get the idea :)

Here is a look at the card from various angles.

This is the all the coloring that I was referring to earlier :D

Mudra Stamps - Lotus Blooms

Hello friends! Today I am sharing a card that I made using the beautiful Lotus Blooms stamp set from Mudra stamps. I am so proud of the fact that these pretty stamps are manufactured in India and they are superb quality.

I was wondering how I would color these outline stamps, but my Zig pens made it quite easy and fun. I can say that I am getting hooked to coloring now :)

For the card, I took a white panel and distressed it using various distress inks till I was happy with the way the background looked. Then I dropped some water droplets on the panel to pick up some color from the distressed background.

I adhered few flowers and leaves flat on the panel with white glue and popped up few of them with foam tape.  The sentiment is from PABD Peonies Love stamp set.

Here's a peek into the coloring that I did. It doesn't look that good here, but looks quite decent on the card :)

Congrats Shaker Card with PABD Peonies Love

Hello everyone!! I am back with the second card made using PABD Peonies Love stamp set. I did a lot of watercoloring at once and fussy cut the flowers. You can see my other card here.
I wanted to make a shaker card, probably my first, with the yellow flowers.

I used a die cut frame and white glitter background for the shaker window and filled it up with loads of sequins and seed beads. Then I adhered the shaker window on a white matting and stuck it onto the card base. The flowers were glued using white glue and few foam dots.

A front view of the card...

Here is a peek of the watercoloring that I did....

PABD Stamp Set Peonies Love

Hi everyone!! It feels so strange to blog after a really long time! This has been my longest break from my blog. A lot of things kept me away from crafting. I moved to Manila, Philippines and was busy settling down here. Now that things are settling, and I have my new craft space set up, I am getting back into the groove :)

I may not be crafting, but I hoarded a lot of craft supplies before moving to Manila. And now its time to get them out and put them to use. So, I tried out my new stamp set from PABD called Peonies Love. And what a gorgeous stamp this is... amazing crisp stamping. I happened to attend a watercoloring class recently and practised my watercoloring to color these stamps.

Here is one of the cards I made....

I did some watercoloring on a white panel and used it for matting. Then I stuck a tag die cut on top of that panel and stamped my sentiment on it. Once that was done, I popped up the fussy cut flowers with foam tape and arranged them on the card. Added few punched out gold leaves and few sequins here and there. To finish up the card, I splattered some pink and blue ink on the card.

Hope you liked my card. Thanks so much from dropping by!!

Cup Shaped Card

Hey everyone!! It feels great to blog after a short break. My lo leaves no time on hand for crafting and hence no posts here. Just managed to create one card for my DH on his birthday. Hence the use of the letter R, the first letter of his name.

I got this cup shape from the net and made my template for the card. I created a pocket in it to place a tag for writing the message. Then I filled it up with beautiful chipboard flower embellishments.

This is how it looks when the tags are taken out. Hope you like it.

Hope you like my creation...
