Upcycled Liquor Box into Gift Box

It's been a long time I made an upcycled project, and something like this had been on my mind since a long time. So I got my hands on a liquor bottle cover.. and converted it into a pretty keepsake/gift box. You can view my other recycled projects here and my recycled project tutorials here.

I have used pattern paper from Papermania pack, MS Swirling Lace Punch, pearls, punched flowers, leaves, roses from Nupur's store and the big bloom is made by me out of handmade paper. The sentiment is stamped and embossed using zing embossing powder from Crafters Corner that I won as winner of a challenge.

I have lined the upper edge of the lid with brown paper to give it a finished look. It closes sits snugly on the lower lid and to keep it in place I have used velcro dots beneath the straps [see pic2].

I filled it with some {yes, some.... i have loads of it ;)} of my junk jewellery..... that necklace peeking out was a RAK from Ekta Maker.

A view from the rear side...

The floral arrangement sitting pretty on my shabby chic box..

The big bloom is made out of a handmade paper carry bag of a hospital. I loved the texture of this paper bag and I tore it apart to make these pretty flowers :)

DIY Flower Basket

Hey guys. I am very happy to share this project with you that I made on order last week.
All the flowers and leaves are handmade by me. My client wanted to gift this to her husband on his birthday, and the feedback in her own words was.... " Your card and basket made my day"!!  So does mine :) .... the appreciation we get for our hardwork is the true fruit of our labour.

As you can see, there is an assortment of flowers... daisies, carnations in two sizes and some fillers. I didn't have big leaves to match the flowers, so I decided to make them on my own. I handcut white CS in mixed shapes and sizes and colored them using distress inks. I loved the natural shaded effect with distress inks.

Here is an overhead view of the basket..

Edited: The basket is upcycled. It was a chocolate bouquet as you can see in the picture below. I removed all the laces and raised the handle of the basket which was orgininally glued down here. I have also used the long sticks on which the chocolates were mounted, to stem the flowers. For the small blue daisies, I used my old semi-dried nail polish to color them.

DIY Flower with Handmade paper

Hi everyone. I received many messages to share the tutorials of the flowers that I made recently. I will try to make more tutorials, but as of now I a sharing one simple flower tute. The best thing about this is that you can make it with basic tools and vary the size as per requirement.

I had used a similar flower in one of my cards here.

I have detailed out everything in the pictorial below. In case you have any questions, please leave a comment below.

Hope you like the tute. Do let me know if you try it.
