Birthday Card

Hi people. What are your plans this long weekend? I am sure if not anything else you will have some crafting plans for sure. Today's card is pretty simple but I enjoyed making it. For this I used my sponge stamps from Hobby Ideas. I have used normal water colors for this.
After stamping, I fussy cut (learned this word from my blogger pal Hussena) the flowers and leaves.
This is something I tried for the first time. I used black and green hole guards to make the border for the PP. This is how they looked before sticking the PP.
And after sticking the PP. It looks like a nice border. Isn't it?
And now the Freebie for today.......Please do link back to my blog if you happen to use my freebies. To download this, right click and Save As.

Here is a simple quilled card I made. The flowers are the very famous Malaysian Flowers. I love using black for leaves and stems. For this card I also used a black CS and black on black looks even better in real.
Hope this view gives you a better picture :)
The flowers.... aren't they cute :)

Best Wishes

Hi All. Here is a simple card I made this week. The colors are very different from the ones I usually use, but somehow I liked the output. I have used the PPs from Paper Mania. The sentiment is from Itsy Bitsy. The image used is a digi. The ribbons, lace and pearls are from my stash.

It's Spring

Hi. This is my 4th card this week. Today I am sharing a spring card. I recently realised that I have lots of purple color things in my stash so I decided to match and use them. The PP is from hobby ideas. The frame is from Itsy Bitsy. The flowers and leaves are punched using daisy punch, 5 petal flower punch and leaf punch. The butterfly is from Hobby Ideas and the rhinestones are from Pie Lane.
A closer look at the flower.

Spring is evident everywhere

Good Morning!! I am back with another card for spring. Wanted to post this asap, so that I don't miss the timeline. This one is based on the sketch from Cleam and Simple Stamping.
The PP was sent by Mallika for our Scrappy Swap. The flowers are punched using my newly acquired big punch. The sentiment is stamped using my new stamps.

Card Patterns #160

Hey all. This is the second card that I had mentioned in my previous post for which I missed the timeline. I have made it based on last week's Card Patterns sketch #160. I really liked the way it came out as it is so not my style but I managed it as all the things just fell into place and merged so well.
The grey CS is a local buy. The off-white lacey oval and black oval die cuts are from Jovita's store. The dove and flowers stickers as well as the sentiment is from Itsy Bitsy.

And guess where is the arrow banner from? Its the backing of Itsy Bitsy sticker :) Yes I use anything and everything around me !! This particluar sticker set is called Motifs Silhoutte.
I had also used one of these stickers in my black and white card here.

Color blocking technique

Hi Friends!! I was too excited to post this card based on last week's Mojo Monday #236 until I found out that I missed the timeline. Ditto for the card I made for Card Patterns :(
Nevertheless, I am glad I could make 4 cards this weekend. And I loved both these sketches a lot and the cards I have made are very different from the usual stuff that I make.

The inspiration for the color combo for this card is the color blocking technique. I loved this new combo which I would have not tried otherwise. The pretty PP that you see here is a RAK from Mallika which came just in time to match this card I would say. The flower is made using a template I found from net. It can be easily made without the template as well. The template had 3 layers and I added a readymade flower in the center.

I am starting a new section in my blog and will be sharing Freebies and Templates with you all. So here goes the first template for this flower. Please note that not all the stuff shared in this section is made by me. I will also be sharing stuff that I find on the net with full credit to the source.
This pretty template is from Maria. She also has some interesting tutorials on her blog. Do check them out.

Have a nice day!!

Quilled Pansy

Hello!! Today I am sharing a card I made last month. Somehow could not share it then. I have been wanting to make a quilled pansy since a long time and finally this is what I came up with.  It is a simple card and I didn't want to embellish it with other stuff so that quilling remains the focus of the card.  Hope you all like my card.
 Another view of the card...

Vellum window card

Hi All. Today I am sharing a card in which I have tried something new. And I got to thank my friend Jovita for it. She gave me this piece of vellum and insisted I try it out. I cut out a window in my CS and stuck vellum from the inside. I have used a plain line golden sticker to add a border to the window. The golden edge sticker at both corners is also from the same set. Then I embellished the card with quilled flowers.

Quilled Hanging

Its getting hotter here in Mumbai and I don't feel like doing anything. Feel too lazy to post anything on my blog too. But I have lots of pending stuff to share. So here is a quilled hanging that I made some days back.
The base is actually the hard board that is inside the lid of a Muesli bottle. I covered it with PP and added a scalloped border. Then I added a sentiment which is a digi. I used the bee hive technique to make the quilled flowers and leaves. The butterfly is a sticker from Pie Lane.
A close-up of the flower....
I also have a good news to share with you all. I was chosen in the Top 3 at BGC#5 for my Black and White circular easel card.

A Stencil Card & DT News

Hey people! I am absolutely delighted to share a wonderful piece of news with you all. I have been invited to be guest DT at Pie Lane for a period of 4 months. I absolutley love their products, and went berserk when I went to their Pune studio for the first time.
So here is my first inspirational card for their current challenge #4 - Stencils.

It is one of the easiest and quickest card that I have made. To make the card I placed the stencil on the paper and secured it with tape so that it doesn't move.
I used metallic bronze paint to color the stencil. I haven't used any water or medium to dilute the paint. The thicker it is, the better!! I have decorated the center of the flowers with glitter balls from Pie Lane.
The yellowish orange handmande paper on which I have stencilled the design was actually a wedding card which I have recycled. I used the blank side of the card to make the design on.
I also made a video tutorial for the first time to showcase how I made this card. Hope you like it. Do share your thoughts. And also do let me know how you like the new look of my blog. You may take the poll on the top right of the blog.
