You are Incredible - Altenew Challenge

Hello. Today I am sharing a card which I made for the Altenew Challenge which is to get inspired by Places Abroad - Dubai Mosque.

I was so excited to see this challenge because I had visited this mosque when I went to Dubai last year. It is truly a spectacular place and so pristine.

I made this card inspired by the second photo. The window is handcut using the template from a key ring packaging that I had purchased from Dubai. The outer design is made using a stencil and weathered wood distress ink.

For the inner design, I used the Persian Motifs stamp set and embossed it using ranger silver embossing powder. And then colored the design from behind using distress inks. To give it a stained glass look I joined the design with lines and embossed it.

Congratulations card

Hello. This is my second post for the day. It happens when you have a little one to tend to and you don't find time for blogging. And when you do, you post all your cards at once :D

Ok, so this is another card I made for Avery Elle's current challenge, which is to incorporate stripes in the card. This is what I came up with. I have used the Petals and Stems stamp set for this card too, but this time I thought of using the smaller flowers with stems.

 A close-up of the card...

Don't those glitter stripes look gorgeous.... yes I used glitter here. No embossing.... This is how I made the glittery stripes. I used the super tacky red tape (my current fav adhesive). Stuck it in stripes on both ends of the card.

Peeled off the backing and then generously covered it with white pixie dust glitter.

Tap off the excess and there you go.....It looks really gorgeous in real!! I got this tip from my crafter friend Dr. Sonia. She has many more ideas here on how to use the super tacky red tape.

Get Well Soon

Hi. Today I am playing along Avery Elle challenge of the month - Stripes. I have just one Avery Elle stamp as of now and I have made a couple of cards with it. So this time I tried out something different by creating a stripes background using TCW stencil. I made a floral bouquet for a Get Well Soon card.

I did lot of stamping and fussy cutting and then arranged the elements to create the bouquet.

So Happy For You

Hello everyone!! Today I have another floral card to share.  I was envisioning this kind of gradient background since quite some time. Finally I got the look that I had in mind. The stencil used here is from Craftslane. I used black soot and weathered wood distress inks to get this background.
The sentiment is heat embossed using ranger black embossing powder. The stamp set used is Penny Black.

The floral cluster was stamped on glossy paper and then fussy cut. The stamp set used is Avery Elle Petals & Stems. (I love this one!!) The watering can is a digi from the net which I printed n cut out and again used same distress inks to color it.

That's all for today. Have a great day!!

Altenew Vintage Roses stamp

Hello everyone!! Today I am posting after a long time. I hardly find time any for crafting with my little one around. But trust me, its a lovely feeling and I am loving being a full time mommy.

Inspite of such busy schedules I managed to lay my hands on some of the new stamps and was very eager to try them out. One such stamp set is the Altenew Vintage Roses stamp which is very sought after by stampers nowadays. It was a tough task to play with this stamp set as it is a bit tricky and requires a lot of practice. After some successful and not so successful trials I managed to get some pretty roses. I decided to fussy cut and use the good ones to make a card. At the same time I tried out another stamp set which is WPlus9 Pretty Little Peonies..... so my card has a mix of elements from both these pretty sets. The sentiment I heat embossed using Ranger Gold embossing powder. I have also use a golden paper for matting to give a golden outline to the main card piece.

Below is a snapshot of the trials I did. I used watercolor paper, glossy paper and normal paper. And the inks I tried were Archival inks and Memento inks. In case you have any queries, I would be happy to help you out.
One of my crafter friends Neha Bhatt has also done her review on this stamp set. If you like to read her post, please visit her blog here.

Thanks for dropping by. Do let me know your views on the card.

Thinking of You - Avery Elle Stamps

Hi. Today's card has a lot of stamping and fussy cutting in it. I used my new Avery Elle Stamp set - Petals & Stems. I absolutely love this floral stamp set. It's so much my type...all about flowers. I did a bit of stencilling for the background. This stencil is from Craftslane. I love their stencils. Fabulous results and they are dirt cheap.

Napkin Fold Card with Handmade Flowers

This is a 10 x 10" Napkin fold card that I made recently. I have used bright colored pattern papers from DCWV paper stack.

This is how it looks when opened and laid flat. I have used MS around the page punch for the card base and the band.

All the flowers that you see here, big small and tiny fillers, are handmade by me. The leaves are handcut and scrunched to give a natural look.

Napkin Fold Card with Floral bunch

Hello! Who doesn't like making special fold cards!! They do require more effort and time, but I guess the hard work is worth it becasue they look more appealing than a normal one layer card.

Here is a huge napkin fold card that I made out of a 12x12" card stock. I decided to use  a bright patter paper to have a nice contrast with the kraft card stock.
For the band, I hand cut a frame to place the floral bunch on. The floral bunch is created using an assortment of daisy flowers, roses and leaves from my stash. For added interest, I punched out butterflies in colors picked from the PP and spread them across the card.

Mega Celebration 2014 Event 2 - Challenge

Hello everyone!

Thanks so much for participating in my Mega Celebration event 2 - Challenge wherein you were required to get inspired by Indian motifs/designs and make a card with that. In addition to that, I added a twist of sending your card to the next person in the link up. I am really glad that lot of people appreciated the idea, but may be because of holiday season, the participation was not huge. Nevertheless, I am happy that those of you who joined in, have played with full enthusiasm and have sent across your cards as a sweet New Year wish to fellow crafters. Seeing your lovely entries, I wished I received these beautiful cards too :)

As you all know, Juhi Khanna from Juhi’s Handmade cards was one of the judges of this contest and she had also shared her inspiration card for this challenge. I had mentioned in the post about a secret judge who along with Juhi and me, will help pick up the winner of this challenge. So let me share the name of our secret judge.... its none other than our very own Karuna Chauhan, the owner of Lulupu - The Craft Lounge. Karuna is also sponsoring this event and offering the awesome Little Lindies Set worth Rs.1199/- from her store to the winner.

All the entries were so pretty and made with so many efforts that we had a tough time selecting a winner. After much brainstorming, all three of us came to the conclusion and chose one unanimous winner.

And the winner is....

Pooja!!

Her card was so beautiful with a pretty shape. And she used a new idea of making a paste of ceramic powder, white glue and white acrylic paint.

Congratulations Pooja!! Please write to me at indira.bhullar@gmail.com to claim your prize.
